Scoil Mhuire Boys National School is situated towards the west end of Millstreet Town, Co. Cork on the Killarney Road.

We are a Catholic school in the Diocese of Kerry, under the patronage of the Rev. Fr. Raymond Browne, Bishop of Kerry and funded by the Dept. of Education and Skills.

We enroll boys from 2nd to 6th class and our pupils come from a range of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.

As a school our aim is to provide a comprehensive, holistic education for our pupils in a happy and inclusive environment while recognising and promoting each child’s abilities and talents. We are ably assisted in this endeavour by a strong Board of Management made up of 8 members (2 members from the Diocese, 2 representing Parents, 2 members from the Community, the School Principal and one other teacher from our School). Further information about the Board of Management is available from the school.

We share a Parents Association Committee with the local Girls National School.  As partners in education the Parents Committee provide invaluable support to the school across a range of issues. For further info go to Parents tab.

We endeavour to promote a healthy and active environment in our school. Ample yard space is available for sports during break times and for PE. We have exclusive use of an Astroturf All Weather pitch on our premises during school hours as well as private access to the local Town Park and pitches, which backs on to our school at the rear. Our school is also adjacent to the local GAA Hall, Town Library and a local Car Park.

Details of school activities, matches, swimming, tin whistle, etc. will be communicated in due course.

Classes begin at 9.20am and finish at 3pm. Lunch is at 1pm to 1.30 pm and pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during lunch. Primary access to and from the school is via the adjacent car park at the side entrance to the school. Please note that for Health and Safety reasons individual parents are asked not to use the front entrance to the school for drop off and pick up.

We hope your son’s time in our school will be a happy and positive experience.  Appointments can be made through the office at any time ( 029 -70776) should you wish to contact teachers.
